1. There is a speed range in which TT gearing is faster and in the remainder NA gearing is faster. You really have to get to the details of torque curve etc. to make an assessment. This is why I presented my analysis. The result was that they're are about equally fast. To summarize: NA and TT will be equally fast over a large enough speed range.

2. Now, NA gearing makes it easier to lose traction. You may not lose traction in an NA geared car if you have great suspension and tires. However, if you are already losing traction with TT gearing, NA gearing will only make it worse and that is my point. When you start losing traction, you become traction limited and not engine torque limited. You cannot utilize the resources you have. Most TTZs will lose traction in first, and many in second. For this reason, I think, an NA geared car will be slower for most suspension/tire/engine setups.

3. Not being defensive, but I did not generalize to all driving conditions. I always used the phrase when cruising which refers to a speed of 60-80mph here in the US. Many of the Zs spend a lot of their miles on freeways, and this may be a consideration.
